Linux kernel是美国Linux基金会发布的开源操作系统Linux所使用的内核。NFSv4 implementation是其中的一个分布式文件系统协议。

Linux kernel 3.7.6之前版本中的fs/xfs/xfs_buf.c中的‘_xfs_buf_find’函数中存在漏洞，该漏洞源于程序没有验证块的数量。通过利用有安装包含带有无效的扩展映射的元数据索引节点的XFS文件系统的能力，本地攻击者利用该漏洞导致拒绝服务（空指针引用和系统崩溃）或产生未明其他影响。
