Linux kernel是美国Linux基金会发布的开源操作系统Linux所使用的内核。NFSv4 implementation是其中的一个分布式文件系统协议。

Linux kernel 3.8.3之前版本中的security/keys/process_keys.c中的‘install_user_keyrings’函数中存在竞争条件漏洞。通过特制的keyctl系统调用在同步线程中触发keyring操作，本地攻击者利用该漏洞导致拒绝服务（空指针引用和系统崩溃）。
