Linux kernel是美国Linux基金会发布的开源操作系统Linux所使用的内核。NFSv4 implementation是其中的一个分布式文件系统协议。

Linux kernel 3.8.4之前版本中的arch/x86/kvm/x86.c中的‘kvm_set_msr_common’函数中存在漏洞，该漏洞源于程序在MSR_KVM_SYSTEM_TIME操作期间没有确认要求time_page对齐。通过特制的应用程序，攻击者利用该漏洞导致拒绝服务（缓冲区溢出和主机系统内存破坏）或产生其他未明影响。
